Our Mission
The SDTA is an organization dedicated to the enhancing and promotion of better taxidermy while uniting taxidermists in fellowship, learning and staying abreast of latest innovations, techniques and laws governing our industry.
The South Dakota Taxidermist Association (SDTA)
is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of the art of taxidermy and
education. Our proceeds go towards maintaining our annual convention/competition.

First of all, the South Dakota Taxidermist is steward to some of the most spectacular wildlife on the entire North American continent. Secondly, the artful diversity of SDTA members attract patrons who may be just visiting SD on a hunt or are lifelong residents as well. After personally meeting so many of you at the last NTA show in Sioux Falls, I feel justified in saying that your officers and members spare no time in making anyone feel at home and appreciated at the same time. In other words, we were strangers there and all of you welcomed us.
Although I never attended a SDTA show yet, I envy those who can take full advantage of the impeccable leadership that's there. Probably most important is the fact that while a DVD can stimulate one's interest in taxidermy, there's nothing quite like seeing how its done and that's were I feel the SDTA seminars are on par with any other show state, national or otherwise. New taxidermist old or young have all to gain and nothing to loose by joining the South Dakota Taxidermists Association. It takes effort and commitment to support any worth while organization. The mere face that SDTA helps keep its taxidermists in business is reason enough for any taxidermist to join. Maybe living here in New Jersey makes me more sensitive to what's real and not, but the SDTA offers all this and more to any taxidermist there in the Great Plains.
