How many years have you been in taxidermy? I started dabbling in taxidermy in 2002 and started doing it full time 2015. What is your favorite thing about Showing? It really give you a chance to learn what you know and what you don't know. It is fun to try the best you can to replicate wildlife. We never do it 100% and no matter how good I think I did on a showpiece, I still learn something! Favorite Animal to Mount? Turkeys Why should people join in their state taxidermy association? It is a chance to build a network of friends and colleagues in the industry. It is a great avenue to learn from peers and also give back and help other taxidermists. We host a show and competition annually that allows you to attend seminars and from some of the top professionals in our industry at a great price and also show off your work in the showroom! Best Life or taxidermy advice given to you over the years? Keep an open mind. There is always room for improvement in your work! If you are accepting of those new methods and critiques you come across at the SDTA Taxidermy Show and Competition, you will continue learning and improving every year! |
